After more than half a dozen years in development, Skyrim’s retirement has been announced!
Via Bethesda’s Blog ; the team has officially announced their movement from Skyrim to a bigger and better project which is at a point where it requires the complete team’s attention. In order to move forward, in recent time the Bethesda team worked towards developing final updates; Creation Kit, Steam Workshop, Kinect Support and DLCs to wrap things up.
Although they are concluding their attention to this ‘labor of love’, they’ve mentioned that they will still stay true to it’s work by providing minor updates when needed. Based on their take of the closure on Skyrim, it appears that they focus on expressing their gratitude towards players and their dedication to the brand.
“We loved hearing your stories, your in-game triumphs, and your suggestions. One thing stuck out to us through those emails, letters, and postings. And that is – video games matter. They’re as important to you as they are to us. It’s not just about entertainment, it’s about your time. And you chose to spend it with our game.” – Bethesda’s Blog, www.bethblog.com
Although Skyrim is all said and done; it makes us at Factioned curious as to what this ‘bigger and better’ project is? And what does the Bethesda Game Studios have in store for us gamers this time? Could it be any better than they have already produced for us (Dishonored, Elder Scrolls Series & Doom)? Or, is it a sequel to one of these world renown titles?
We wish all the best to Skyrim as we too are fans of the game – Hopefully their upcoming title will include cabbage basketball and acceptable giant smashing glitches.
…never get’s old!
